Natural muscovite mica from India, for buyers in China
Mica is a natural mineral that grows in layers, so a block of it splits into thin, clear, flexible sheets.
Muscovite, the light-coloured mica, does not carry electricity, stands high heat, and resists water and most chemicals. Industry has relied on it for more than a century, and India, one of the oldest sources of mica in the world, still supplies factories everywhere. Coast Origin supplies it in four forms, sorted and graded to each buyer's order.

Each form is sorted and graded to the buyer's order. Tell us what your process needs, and we match the grade.

These are the measurements in a mica lab report. Coast Origin's own values go here from its reports, and every lot you buy comes with a report of its own.

XRF (X-ray fluorescence) is the standard laboratory test of a mineral's chemistry. ASTM D351 grades sheet mica by how clear it is.
You see the results before you buy, not after.
A sample is taken from every lot.
A laboratory measures its chemistry, size and moisture.
The results go into a lab report that carries the lot number.
You get the sample and its report before you order. An independent inspection at loading can be arranged on request.

Few minerals do as many jobs. These are the main industries that buy it.
Sheets and splittings insulate motors, heaters and transformers: mica does not carry electricity and stands high heat.
Ground mica makes a paint film tougher and helps it resist weather and water.
As a filler, it adds stiffness and keeps moulded parts from warping.
Fine, pure mica gives powders and pearl pigments their soft shimmer.
Mica powder is part of the coating on welding electrodes.
Flakes seal cracks in oil-well drilling; powder goes into plaster, joint compound and roofing.
